The full purchase price for a gift subscription is charged to the purchaser at the time of purchase and is nonrefundable. Gift codes are not replaceable. The code is good for one-time use only, cannot be combined with another offer and has no cash or stored value. No balance remains after use. The gift subscription period (52 weeks/1 year) begins the day it is redeemed by the recipient and it does not auto-renew after this period ends. The gift code is valid for redemption for one year following the date the gift subscription is purchased. The value of any gift code left unclaimed after 1 year from the date of issue will be donated to the Sponsor a Student Program of The New York Times and will then no longer be redeemable. A gift code recipient must accept our Terms of Service and acknowledge our Privacy Policy to redeem the code. Offer terms are subject to change.

No.

No, you will not have access to the gift subscription code or details once the redemption email has been sent to the recipient.

We wouldn’t recommend having the cap sent to yourself to keep because the redemption email does mention that a physical gift is on its way to them, so keeping it might cause confusion.
